ugliest actor awards...

as someone who sees "far too many movies", i'm surrounded and plunged neck deep into ugly actors.now, though they are hideous to behold, and the very mention of their faces brings insane bursts of laughter, they still tend to be good actors. maybe, back in their younger years, they were better looking.. possibly, they were just hairier. i'll go with the second one. so, my top 3 ugly actors go to: will ferrel, john c. reilly, and jack nicholson.but who is the ugliest of the 3? not a fair question, i say. its unfair to point fingers,as theyre already singled out as it is....tonight i go to see Semi Pro, the new will ferrel movie, and my god am i scared, as will ferrel naked does not arouse any dark desire in me, it actually makes me fear for my life.all in all, it will be interesting. in Walk Hard, john c reilly is terrifyingly bad looking, and quite amusingly well acting. and jack nicholson, well, that really speaks for itself, dontcha think?

the nerve center(of baltimore)

its probably not what you're thinking.the name isn't implying you'll be getting brain surgery.you won't be medicated, or dosed.unless music is your surgery, and the musicians; your doctors.

some people only know the music of baltimore that gets published in a newspaper, or has flyers at your local mainstream record shop... some dont care much for music and arts in general. others, they know about townhouses turned into spaces where bands can play, and where life is pretty much pleasant living. one such house, is the nerve center, on huntingdon avenue.. in its entirity, there is a half pipe, a place for shows, an area for refreshments, bathrooms( which are really clean!) and of course, good company. like any place, there are regulars, both musicians and show-goers alike. the band pictured in the above left is Mega Mega, of baltimore origins. the date was friday, feburary 22nd. this is reminding me of when my stepdad would tell me stories that would always start with" it was a dark and stormy night". well, in all actuality, it was a dark and stormy night. it did clear up rather nicely around 8 or so. the bands who played alongside Mega Mega were of equal importance. we were graced one last time by the lyrical mastery of the late and great Lovers+Killers, and by the smooth sounds of Heroin UK, also present were Philly kids Algebra of need (check them out, they rule), and the totalitarian vegetables( who have only had basist Doug McConnell for 4 practices.) all in all, it was a great show, lots of cool kids came out, and it was a great final show for lovers and killers.
things like final goodbye shows, and great company make the nerve center a favorite place for the kids of baltimore. more often than not something cool is happening, and something productive and beneficial is going on. and always, always, theres good music.
hoo-rah for the nerve center, live long and prosper.. and to L+K, we'll miss you.
